Plumbing/Water Pressure Reducing Value

A beautiful Morning!

Water Pressure Reducing Value

To start my wonderful Monday, I was called out to inspect a water pressure reducing value. If you ever had one of these and they stop working on you it is trouble! So it could destroy your appliances inside your house and/or cause serious flooding issues so don’t let that happen!

What does it do?

A water pressure regulator (sometimes called a pressure-reducing valve, or PRV) is a specialized plumbing valve that reduces the water pressure coming into the home through the main water line. This valve brings down the pressure to a safe level before the water reaches any plumbing fixtures inside the home.

Happy ending

Thankfully we found the problem and quickly replaced the customers value. While replacing a valve can be easy with the right training, there are important things you want to watch out for because making a mistake could also be disastrous! If not you could cause more problems. Yikes! No one wants more problems! Anyways after we fixed that issue we did an full home inspection of the plumbing system and noted the issues for the customer. Read more about that here.

Finally word, water pipes making noises

The original called started because the customer noticed her water pipes making loud noises! Yikes! so being a smart lady she called me right away! As a home owner you want to stay ahead of issues like this before they become bigger problems so I recommend finding a good plumber and sticking with them!
